Q: What is a Collector Ring?

A: The method that we use to transfer power from a stationary power source to the rotating display without twisting wires by using a stationary brush that rides against a rotating ring. The amount of amperage that can be passed through a standard single ring is 15 Amps or 1650 watts @ 110VAC (higher aperage loads can be made avaliable by adding additional brush sets - contact Dynapac for details). More rings may be stacked to provide for several different power circuits as needed.

Q: Can I use Dynapac Rotators outdoors?

A: Yes. Provided that adequate shielding is given to protect the rotator from the weather. Dynapac rotators are UL Recognized for use in outdoor signage (dry and damp locations).
